With the rapid economic and social development and the continuous improvement of people’s living standards, the elderly group’s retirement needs are undergoing profound changes. They are no longer just content with material comfort but are pursuing higher levels of spiritual and cultural fulfillment. The “14th Five-Year Plan” outline explicitly proposed the strategic goal of “deeply promoting nationwide reading and building a ‘Scholarly China’.” The National Office on Aging and sixteen other ministries jointly issued the “Opinions on Further Strengthening the Construction of Elderly Culture,” which clearly requires actively carrying out reading activities among the elderly and promoting the creation and production of cultural products for them.

During the forum, Chairman Yu Jianwei of the China Aging Development Foundation announced the launch of the “Silver Age Reading Development Fund.” As one of the initiating entities, Ken-Dao Industrial made a donation to the fund to support the development of the elderly reading culture. This initiative will guide and fund various reading activities widely conducted among the elderly population. It will also organize seniors to participate in public welfare activities in culture, art, education, and cultural tourism, support effective connections between relevant service organizations and the elderly, improve service mechanisms, enhance service quality, and promote supply-side reform. The goal is to make cultural elderly care services warm and comforting, meeting the diverse and personalized cultural needs of the elderly.
As a one-stop service enterprise dedicated to providing quality, healthy, and joyful living for the middle-aged and elderly, Shanghai Ken-Dao Industrial upholds industry standards with its original mission, anchors the concept of a healthy lifestyle, and persists in bringing high-quality healthy living experiences to the middle-aged and elderly population.
In the future, Shanghai Ken-Dao Industrial will continue to care about and focus on the middle-aged and elderly groups, delving deeply and continuously into the reading needs of the aging population—from a healthy quality life to the spiritual and cultural world. It will conduct more in-depth research and cooperation with experts from the publishing industry, the aging sector, and elderly reading promoters to promote the healthy and long-term development of the elderly reading industry.
